LIVERPOOL, England—Filipino pocket-sized dynamo Carlos Edriel Yulo knew he would need to work harder in training to have a strong chance at striking gold in the 51st FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships set to unfold Saturday and ends on November 6 here. And it is evident in this photo with Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya on how dead serious the Leveriza, Manila native is in his preparation for the world tilt.

Yulo is, of course, eyeing to perform well in the individual all-around as well as in three specific apparatuses—the floor exercise where he nailed a World Championship gold in Stuttgart, Germany in 2019, vault and parallel bars where copped a mint and silver in Kitakyushu, Japan last year.

Go for gold Caloy!
